About the LEA

Caring, Capable, Committed Professionals

Dedicated to giveing every child an outstanding education

We are your friends, your neighbors, and an important part of this community and its schools.  We care about your children.

We are your friends and neighbors.

  • There are 111 of us.
  • A fifth of us live right here in Ringwood, Wanaque or Haskell.
  • Three-quarters of us have lived here more than 10 years and several of us went to school here ourselves.
  • Many of us have children or grandchildren who are current Ringwood, Wanaque and Lakeland students or district graduates.

We are committed to our careers and to our students.

  • Fifty percent of us hold advanced college degrees, including PhD/EdDs.
  • Together, we have over 1,000 years of experience in our field.
  • This past year alone, we spent over $17,000 of our own money on classroom supplies.
  • We are here for our students. We’ve accumulated more than 12 years of UNUSED sick time.
  • Twenty percent of us have worked loyally at Lakeland for over 20 years.
  • Our members have voluntarily pursued advanced training in areas ranging from crisis management to CPR to behavior management to communication skills, and dozens of other areas that help us do our jobs more effectively.

We are members of this community.

  • We volunteer with churches, Special Olympics, PTO, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Booster Clubs and many other organizations.
  • We are coaches, class parents, club advisers, music teachers, library volunteers, choir members and local musicians, just to name a few.
  • We overwhelmingly plan to remain active participants in Lakeland communities.
